October 22, 2017

Once in a while, you have the opportunity to witness the exceptional at work. Take interesting people with complementary skills, a shared passion for food, culture and people, who lead a team of talented and dedicated professionals—what you get is a restaurant such as Sanjeev Kapoor’s Khazana.

Meet husband and wife, Shailesh and Rashmi Gangwani, the owners of Khazana. The Milton restaurant opened its doors to diners on Thursday, but the Gangwani family has been preparing for this moment for years. Shailesh and Rashmi Gangwani take pride in introducing Chef Sanjeev Kapoor’s Khazana in North America.

Spicy doesn’t mean hot, we want to show our guests the real Indian taste and flavour while creating ambience and an ideal standard of service.” The restaurant is designed by their son, Shreyas Gangwani who is in his third year studying engineering and business at McMaster university. He designed the interior to incorporate/marry rich traditional hues with modern finishes for a contemporary look.

Rashmi Gangwani goes on to talk about the warm welcome they have received in Milton. She remarks about the community, about how many Miltonians have already reached out to them. “We saw right from the start that Milton is a warm town to live in where the people are close-knit…We want our food to be easy to understand and to make people happy.”

It is a pioneering concept in Indian cuisine. The food is delivered to the table. It is colourful, artistically
